Realistic Scratchboard Drawing

The story with this art piece was we were assigned to create an art piece that we recreated from scratchboard, but it had to be a picture that was one we took. So I chose a picture of my cat, Flopsey.

This art piece relates to my life because this is a image that I took of my cat, and with Flopsey, she won't hold still for you to take a photo of her so this was a rare occasion. I also have been making at least one of my projects a image of one of my pets. So for my last pet I have, I chose to do this one of Flopsey.

The process of this piece was to get an idea for what we wanted to create that had detail. I first printed the picture of her, and then gridded the paper and the scratchboard lightly so it would not scrape the board. Then square by square, I scratched away and looked at the details on her face to match it together.
