Why Don't You Smile?

Artist Statement:

For my investigation, I want to highlight insecurities and show their beauty.

For this next insecurity, I wanted to highlight the insecurity of teeth. For some research, I made a google form which was anonymous, and asked "is there something you are insecure about?" One of the answers was that someone was insecure about their teeth. I decided I wanted to try and use a new medium and carve stamps. I wanted this to look like street art almost like a poster you'd see on the subway.

For materials, I used rubber stamps, and ink. I wanted the background to be repetitive and look loud. I feel that this work shows the aggression and the loudness of the tone of the insecurity.
