The story with this art piece was to create an inquiry question for a sustained investigation. My question was "How can I visualize my emotions by making my internal emotions external?"

This art piece relates to my life because this image shows what anxiety does to me personally. It feels like I am being controlled like a puppet, and It's hard to control it. It takes over. Specific little things like getting an assignment done or family issues, or even the pandemic. It's really scary, and most of the time I feel stuck and alone.

The process of this piece was getting an idea for an image to represent my emotion for anxiety. I wanted my piece to look clean and simple. I did not want to add color into this piece specifically because I felt like it was important to show the raw emotion. Black and white. For materials I used graphite pencils, and a ballpoint ink pen for defined lines.

This art piece relates to my life because this image shows the feeling I have in my heart when there's someone who I like or love. I know I am young and relationships are the least of my worries, but this feeling is something I can't control. It's the feeling you get when you're around them, and it's something that is hard to explain but I can visualize. Butterflies.

The process of this piece was getting an idea for an image to represent my emotion for love. I wanted my piece to look clean and simple like my first piece, I was planning on adding some color into the piece, but when I finished the outline of the heart, I wanted to keep it black and white. For materials, I used graphite pencils and a ballpoint ink pen for defined lines. I also tried stippling which I have not done in a very long time, and I was very happy with the outcome of the piece.

This art piece relates to my life because this image shows how I feel when I am relieved or just happy. The inspiration behind this piece is from the movie 'Perks of Being a Wallflower' which is one of my favorite movies. The scene it is inspired by is when they are listening to the tunnel song (Hero's by David Bowie) and the character Sam, goes to the back of the truck and stands up to just feel the wind in her hair and feel free. Charlie looks at Patrick and says "I feel infinite. " this feeling is a feeling that is shown in movies time and time again, but once you feel it in real life it is amazing.

The process of this piece was getting an idea for an image to represent my emotion for relief. I wanted my piece to look clean and simple like my other pieces, and this time I added color. I wanted it to have a puzzle look so it could show the pieces coming together. For materials, I used graphite pencils and a ballpoint ink pen for defined lines. I also used sharpies for color which I thought made the piece pop.

This art piece relates to my life because this image shows how I feel when I am happy. My brain just has this explosion of sprouting flowers that bloom. Showing this emotion is hard to do. I sat for a very long time thinking of how I could show this emotion. Whenever I talk to someone about different passions I have, it creates this spark that lights a flame that is hard to blow out. I really love the aesthetic of flowers, and I felt that if I showed them connecting with my mind, it would be beautiful.

The process of this piece was getting an idea for an image to represent my emotion for happiness. I wanted my piece to look clean and simple like my other pieces, and this time I wanted to show the rawness of the piece. I only used graphite pencils for this project because it started out as just a sketch, and when I was done with it, it was just a sketch I did while I was trying to think of ideas. Which made me connect back to why I love to express myself with my thoughts.
