Statement:
The story with this art piece was we were required to find leaves and create jelly prints to add shapes that have negative space that we could add on to. The piece I added on to was an idea I had before we had even started with the artwork. My favorite season is winter and I wanted to create a piece that could show you looking into a winter wonderland through a leaf.
This art piece relates to my life because winter is my favorite season, and I tried to create a scene from picturing from memory what my yard looks like in the winter time. I tried adding as much detail as possible from my memory of my yard.
The process of this piece was have a jelly square and using the ink brayer to spread the ink all over the jelly square until it sounded like velcro, after that, I put my leaf on the square and lined up my paper onto the jelly square and gently rubbed the paper onto the square. I then took off the paper and saw there was a lot of negative space in my leaf. I chose this l piece because there was enough space to create a lot more of a piece of art that could tell a story. I then started to sketch my idea lightly on the paper, I then colored in the paper and made it more vibrant.
