Duck Stamp

Artist Statement:

The story with this art piece was we were assigned to create a piece that involved a species of duck. This is a competition that determines if your piece will be created into a stamp.

This art piece relates to my life because Mallard ducks have been in my family for years. My great grandfather used to paint, and he created many pieces that had different species of ducks, but he particularly liked mallard ducks.

The process of this piece was to draw the duck lightly first then color it in with any material, I chose colored pencils. If I were to do this piece again I would probably use acrylic instead.
