You're too loud

Artist Statement:

For my investigation, I want to highlight insecurities and show their beauty.

For this next insecurity, I wanted to highlight the volume of one's voice. Having someone tell you that you're being too loud when you're trying to have a conversation with someone can affect you a lot because you can feel as though you should never talk. I wanted to show the exaggeration of the volume monitor to show how quickly it is for the level of the voice to affect someone. That is why I added the colors to show where it started to get to a certain breaking point.

For materials, I used graphite pencils to first sketch it out. I then wanted to use an effect where I use a pen to shade the different parts of the face. I originally thought the idea would look cool, but I think I needed to do more trials to see how it would look.
