Insecurity #1

For my investigation, I want to highlight insecurities and show their beauty.

This first insecurity that I wanted to highlight was my own side profile. I have always had a hard time with having people look at me from the side because I overthink and wonder if maybe I have a double chin or if my chin looks too big. It's something that has always had a huge impact on me and I wanted to try and show it through my own style of artwork.

For materials I used graphite pencils to first sketch it out. I then went over the work in pen making the lines of the work very jagged so it wasn't as defined. I then wanted to add different colors that can correspond with each other, which is why I chose green and blue water color markers.
