Artist Statement:

The story with this art piece was we were assigned to create a printing plate to create a stamp almost, using the resources around us in our house or outside. Since we are in quarantine, it is more of a challenge to find resources, but luckily I had some styrofoam lying around.

This art piece relates to my life because each of my portrait is apart of me. My first print is of a ukulele, which is my favorite thing to play with right now! My second print is a image of a flower, I really love flowers. They change my mood when I see them, and they make me happy. My last print was of former President Barak Obama, and I admire him as a person. I think he is a generous caring person, and aspire to be like that.

The process of this piece was to find anything that could be a good resource that was thick and could stick up to be a replacement as a stamp. Then you cut the pieces to put the stamp together and glue on a background. Then you paint black paint or ink onto the printing plate and then grab a clean whit piece of paper and gently set on the plate and run the paper, then peel to reveal the print.
