The Director serves as the chief executive officer of the CPS and is responsible for leading academic and administrative efforts to achieve the CPS's mission. The Director manages all academic, administrative, and financial operations.
Oversee and enhance academic programs, suggesting necessary updates.
Coordinate activities between the CPS departments and university departments, ensuring smooth operations through Deputy Directors and Heads of Departments.
Supervise the teaching process, overall performance, and examinations.
Oversee placement and exit tests during orientation.
Oversee quality management procedures and policies.
Advise on the CPS staffing needs for academic, technical, and administrative roles to the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Student Services (DVCAACS).
Approve requirements for facilities, equipment, materials, and books after discussions with the Executive Committee.
Recommend appointments of Deputy Directors and Heads of Departments to the DVCAACS.
Recommend appointments of Course Leaders to the Executive Committee.
Develop and submit annual budgets and medium- to long-term plans to the Executive Committee for approval.
Monitor staff performance and recommend promotions, renewals, or terminations according to regulations.
Supervise the preparation and analysis of academic data.
Prepare and present progress and annual reports on teaching and performance to the DVCAACS after Executive Committee review.
Relay Executive Committee opinions to the DVCAACS for Academic Council discussions.
Chair the Steering Committee and the Executive Committee meetings.
Document and submit Executive Committee meeting minutes to the DVCAACS where required.
Ensure the development and implementation of policies, plans, and practices to fulfill the CPS mission, in coordination with the Quality Management Unit.
Chair the Promotion Committee, Social Committee, Observation and Quality Enhancement Committee, and Recruitment Committee.
Oversee or delegate observations of new teachers.
Maintain communication with the CPS stakeholders.
Form ad-hoc committees for specific issues like disciplinary actions and grievances.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the DVCAACS and the Vice Chancellor.
