The E-Learning Committee supports CPS staff and promotes teaching excellence by enhancing instructional design, integrating instructional technologies, developing interactive digital media, administering and improving Moodle and other platforms (Google, Microsoft), and deploying innovative technologies. It plays a pivotal role in integrating digital resources, adaptive learning platforms, and AI-driven tools, to enrich the educational environment and align with the university's forward-thinking vision. By leveraging these technologies, the Committee seeks to not only enhance the learning experience but also ensure that CPS remains at the cutting edge of educational innovation.
The committee is chaired by the Deputy Director for Professional Development and Research and includes the following members:
A standing member
One to three representatives from each department, depending on the number of teachers in the department
Assist in advanced Moodle course designs, grading, feedback, and related matters.
Support teachers and course leaders in maintaining classroom academic integrity through solutions such as Turnitin.
Support the transition to e-books and other digital content in provided courses.
Participate in CPS projects that include e-learning components when proposed.
Conduct workshops and provide coaching on the use of educational technologies in teaching.
Assess and integrate new e-learning tools and methodologies.
Facilitate collaboration with the CPS community and external educational and technological communities whenever possible.
Coordinate and offer feedback on the acquisition of digital tools and software for e-learning.
Review the integration of technologies that support personalized learning experiences when required.
When required, collect and analyze data on the effectiveness of e-learning strategies and applications.
Use insights from data to improve educational practices and technology use.
Coordinate training programs for the CPS staff on effective e-learning and teaching strategies, eLearning systems, and related applications.
Organize workshops on integrating new educational technologies into teaching.
Raise awareness among staff about e-service updates when available.
Recommend development of e-learning technologies, including software and hardware.
Assist departments in optimizing e-learning platforms and tools.
Liaise with department heads and course leaders to identify and address academic and training needs.
Work with CIS and CET to align ICT and e-learning provisions with educational goals and maintain e-services at the center.
Collaborate with the Students with Special Needs Committee to ensure e-learning accessibility when required.
Manage online tools like Turnitin and Google Apps to support academic integrity.
Train and support staff and students in the effective use of these tools.
Report technical issues that may occur to CET
Evaluate the effectiveness of e-learning tools and practices.
Prepare an annual report on the activities of the committee and submit it to the Chair.
