Employees are entitled to annual leave each year after completing three months from the date of their appointment, as follows:
60 days for those occupying positions on the special schedule and teaching staff positions, and for grades 1 and 2 of the medical staff schedule.
48 days for those occupying grade 6 and above in the general schedule, and grades 5 and 7, and grades 3, 4, and 5 in the medical staff schedule, and grade 8 and above in the nursing schedule.
36 days for those occupying other grades.
Approval:
Annual leave is approved based on the employee's request and the recommendation of their immediate supervisor.
Leave Utilization:
Employees take their leave based on work requirements. The Director may deny the employee's annual leave if work interests necessitate, compensating them in cash based on their salary.
Leave Limitations:
Employees may take up to 90 days of annual leave per year. The Vice Chancellor or his designee may approve an additional 30 days within the same year if the employee has enough leave balance.
Interruption of Leave:
The Director may interrupt the employee's leave for work needs, allowing them to take the remaining leave later, compensating them in cash, or adding it to their leave balance.
End of Service Compensation:
Employees whose service ends for any reason are entitled to cash compensation for their accrued annual leave up to a maximum of two years for teaching staff and three years for others. In the case of death, full compensation for their leave balance is provided.
Conditions for Compensation:
Compensation is not granted if the employee's service is less than six months. It is calculated based on the employee's salary at the end of service.
Non-Accrued Leave:
Employees do not accrue annual leave during the following periods:
Time spent on scholarship or training courses longer than six consecutive months.
Time spent on a study leave or academic secondment exceeding 60 days.
Time spent on unpaid special leave exceeding 30 days per year, except for unpaid sick leave.
Time spent on secondment outside the state administrative apparatus.
Suspension from work for more than three months.
