The Central Projects Committee is a key decision-making body within the CPS. It oversees the evaluation and advancement of project proposals. This committee plays a crucial role in allocating resources and supporting the development of innovative projects across various departments.
The committee is chaired by the Deputy Director for Academic Programs and includes the following members:
A standing member
Heads of Departments (HoDs)
Review project proposals submitted by the HoDs.
Make recommendations to the Director regarding which projects should be allocated time and resources.
Monitor the progress of approved projects in liaison with the HoDs.
Disseminate information about approved projects.
Communicate completed projects to the Professional Development Committee for presentation.
Review the resources required for the projects and make recommendations to the Director.
Chair the meetings of the committee in the absence of the Deputy Director for Academic Programs (DDAP).
Announce the reception of project applications (PTRFs).
Liaise with the Departmental Projects Committee to review the submitted PTRFs and supervise the recommendations to allocate release hours to the project applicants.
Submit a final collated document of recommendations to DDAP.
Send Project Progress Report Form A (for week 8) and Project Progress Report Form B (for week 16) to the project supervisors during the Spring semester.
Check the uploading of Project Progress Report Forms A and B to the database.
Prepare an annual report on the activities of the committee and submit it to the Chair.
