The Steering Committee plays an important role in guiding the strategic and operational direction of the CPS. As a key governance body, it ensures that the CPS aligns with its mission and educational objectives. The committee is responsible for the comprehensive oversight of the CPS’s activities, from policy formulation to the implementation of educational and operational plans. It provides leadership and coordination among various units within the CPS to ensure that the centre remains responsive to the needs of its stakeholders and adheres to high standards of academic and administrative excellence.
The Steering Committee is chaired by the Director of the CPS and includes the following members:
Head of the Assessment Unit
Head of the Sustainable Development Unit
Head of the Quality Management Unit
Three Course Leaders appointed
Two members of the teaching staff appointed by the Director for a two-year term, renewable
One student representative (when required)
Oversee and regularly update the strategic and operational plans of the CPS.
Supervise the implementation of these strategic and operational plans.
Monitor the execution of teaching plans and address any issues that arise during their implementation.
Establish ad-hoc committees or working groups to study and provide recommendations on specific policies and issues to the Steering Committee.
Form and delegate tasks to sub-committees comprised of its members or others to support the achievement of the CPS mission.
Review and formulate responses to feedback from CPS stakeholders.
The Steering Committee meats at least once each semester, with meetings scheduled and called by the Chair of the committee.
A quorum for the meetings is achieved if a simple majority of the members are present.
Policy proposals developed by the Steering Committee for the CPS are submitted to the Academic Council.
The Steering Committee may delegate some of its responsibilities to any other Unit/Committee as necessary.
