Student Attendance 

General Expectations:

• Students are expected to attend all classes punctually.

• Absences and lateness are tracked and included in the overall attendance percentage.

Warning Notices:

• Issued if a student is absent for more than:

  • 5% of courses with 75 or more contact hours.

  • 10% of courses with less than 75 contact hours.

Barring Notices:

• Issued if a student is absent for more than:

  • 10% of courses with more than 150 contact hours.

  • 15% of courses with 75 to 150 contact hours.

  • 20% of courses with less than 75 contact hours.

• Notices are sent electronically to students, their parents, academic advisors, and the Deanship of Admission and Registration.

Lateness:

• Students arriving within the first 10 minutes are marked late.

• Six instances of lateness equate to two hours of absence.

• Arrivals between 10 and 30 minutes late are marked as one hour of absence.

• Arrivals after 30 minutes are marked as two hours of absence​.
