Researchers must justify ethically acceptable ends to their proposed research involving human participants and demonstrate ethically acceptable means to achieve these ends.
Researchers must respect and acknowledge the rights of others involved in research activities. This involves adhering to the following ethical principles:
Ensuring that participants engage in research voluntarily.
Obtaining informed and non-coerced consent from participants.
Respecting the cultural values of participants.
Maintaining the privacy, anonymity, and confidentiality of participants.
Minimizing risks and maximizing benefits to participants.
All research activities must be submitted for ethical review before the initiation of the data-gathering phase through the following forms:
Research Permission Form (Data Collection Application for MA & PhD Candidates Only)
Research Support and Data Collection Application Form (CPS Staff)
Researchers must submit the completed ethical approval application form, along with all required supporting documentation.
If necessary, a meeting with the researcher(s) may be requested.
