Let's Dance                  Hoedown          9th March 2026

In connection with Angel Rippon's Let's Dance initiative, we were pleased to welcome visitors who were keen to try Square Dancing with us. These included friends and relatives of members, two former Waggoners members and some whose interest was sparked by seeing our flyers advertising the event.

Trudy and Simon soon had everyone in squares, circling left and right and doing Dosados with their partners, corners and opposites. As the evening progressed Trudy and Simon introduced more moves including stars, promenades, flutterwheels, couple numbering, sweep a quarter, single circle and even pair off which is currently in the A programme. A raffle was held and the lucky holders of winning tickets chose prizes from chocolates, whisky, wine, an orchid and toiletries.

At the end of the evening our visitors were congratulated by the members on their achievements and Trudy and Simon were thanked for their hard work in getting everyone dancing.

It is hoped that we will be in a position to begin teaching a new class within the next couple of months.
