Monday 7th July 2025 - A very warm evening when we managed to dance three squares for one of the Tips, the rest of the time having two squares. The evening had been designated as our "Open Mic Night" and we were very pleased to welcome 7 guest callers: Muriel, David S, Julie, Peter G, David H, Penny W and Michael D with Muriel making her debut as a caller. Trudy and Simon filled in the gaps between guest callers and even managed to teach our Students to "Spin the Top". Our Open Mic Nights are usually held on the Monday before Easter when we serve Hot Cross Buns but, although they seem to be sold year round nowadays, we opted instead to have dark and milk choc ices, more in keeping with the summer. To finish the evening Trudy and Simon treated us to one of their lovely duets, "A Love Song".

Monday 14th July 2025 - Simon was on his own tonight as Trudy was at home with her mother after a busy family weekend. We danced two squares on this warm evening and enjoyed guest tips from Penny and David. Penny and Simon both revised "Spin the Top" (which had been taught last week) with the Students. Muriel had arrived complete with several punnets of fresh strawberries - when she had called in at Waitrose on her way to Club, they were giving the strawberries away as they were at their sell-by date and would have to be thrown away if not taken home by customers. We were all more than happy to help out Waitrose!
Friday 18th - Sunday 20th July 2025 - Barbara, David C, Penny T, Muriel and Wendy went to the Otter Squares Mainstream and Plus weekend in Torquay and had a great time dancing to Neil Whiston as well as enjoying the delights of Devon.
They are pictured with Neil and his partner, Sam.
Monday 21st July 2025 - On a much cooler evening than of late we danced two squares to Trudy and Simon and with guest tips from Penny and David. Our Students were shown how to "Balance" and also "Dixie-style to an Ocean Wave. During the break Helen generously shared with everyone some chocolates she had received.
Monday 28th July 2025 - We were pleased to welcome back Marion following her boating mishap and also Sandy who has been away for several weeks with complications after an accident at home involving a plank. Trudy and Simon were away in the Cotswolds with Trudy's mother so our callers tonight were Penny and David. During their Tips for everyone they recapped for the Students ."Dixie Style to an Ocean Wave", "Left Swing Thru" and "Balance". They went on to teach "Split Circulate" and "Box Circulate" (from columns and waves), "Cross Runs" and "Cross Folds".
During the interval Marion shared some home-made shortbread she had brought and we all sang "Happy Birthday" to her.
