Monday 2nd February 2026 - Presentation to Hearts for Herts With Trudy and Simon still too unwell to come to call for us, Penny and David again stepped up and gave us an enjoyable night's dancing. During the evening we were pleased to be visited by Justin Honey-Jones, the Founder, Chair and Community Trainer for the charity, Hearts for Herts, the chosen recipient of our fundraising in 2025. Justin spoke to us about how and why the charity was formed and the good works it performs by providing inclusive training and education on lifesaving CPR and defibrillator skills, increasing the number of defibrillators in the community, advancing the inclusive education of the public in the subject of serious bleeding and equipping communities with public access bleed control kits which, in the event of such an incident, may buy valuable time before the arrival of the ambulance service. Our Chairman, Bob, then presented Justin with a cheque for £500.
Monday 9th February 2026 - Although Trudy and Simon reported that they were feeling much better, they did not yet feel well enough to make the journey to Hertingfordbury from Caddington and then call for us for two and a half hours, so Penny and David were again our callers for the evening. We were pleased to welcome back Roy, who has been unwell, and to wish Helen a belated Happy Birthday. In recognition of Valentine's Day this coming weekend we enjoyed some Love Hearts sweets.
We recorded a short video message, which was emailed to Trudy and Simon, with everyone joining in with the words, "Hello, Simon and Trudy, come back soon. We miss you" followed by a round of applause.
Monday 16th February 2026 - We were very pleased to welcome back Trudy and Simon who have both not been able to call for us at Waggoners for some time due to ill health.
We wished Ruth a very "Happy Birthday" as she celebrates this week and all sang to her in the usual way.
