Monday 2nd June - We have decided to continue using the Dining Hall and tonight we had two squares dancing to Trudy and Simon. As Penny was away in Italy, David was our only guest caller and he resurrected an old favourite, "Busted" for his singing call.
Monday 9th June - It was announced that we will start to sell tickets for our Birthday Dance in September from the end of this month. Penny and Bob had returned from their holiday so both Penny and David did a Guest Tip, each recapping moves previously taught to the Students. Trudy introduced "Ferris Wheel" to the Students, reminding them that it is a similar, but different, move to "Wheel and Deal".
Monday 16th June - a very hot evening and members arrived to find Trudy and Simon setting up their equipment on the playground. As it was almost Midsummer, Simon was confident that we could remain outside all evening as it would stay light.
When Simon called the first tip for Mainstream, dancers chose to dance on a piece of the playground marked out as a Snakes and Ladders board!
Remaining in the shade a 2nd square was formed and a tip was called for everyone - Trudy welcomed Val back to the Club.
Penny called a tip and recapped "Turn Thru" for the Students, whilst Trudy taught "Thars".
Bob started selling tickets for the Waggoners Birthday Dance in September and, in the absence of David, Michael acted as Treasurer collecting subs.
During the break we sang to Trudy wishing her a Happy Birthday for later this week.
With the forecast set to remain hot until next week, Club members were told that we may repeat the same exercise next Monday so they should therefore come prepared to dance outside again..
Monday 23rd June - Just enough dancers for 2 squares this evening so, as a result, no photos have survived! In her guest tip Penny taught and recapped "Eight Chain Thru". Simon called some much faster tips for the Mainstream dancers and, in the absence of David, Michael again acted as Treasurer.
Wednesday 25th June - during their week long holiday on the Isle of Wight, David and Janet travelled from Bembridge on the east coast to Brighstone on the south west coast to spend a very happy morning dancing easy Mainstream to Terry Chapman at the Westerners club.
