Afternoon Tea Dance

13th November 2021

We were very pleased to welcome over 50 dancers, from clubs including All Square at Zero, Hogsmill, Listers and Tudor Squares,  to our Afternoon Tea Dance in celebration of Waggoners' 47th Birthday. Holding our Birthday Dance in the afternoon was a new departure for Waggoners but we decided to give it a try as many dancers now prefer not to drive in the dark. This may be the way forward as several dancers remarked afterwards that they enjoyed having the evening free, after having had an afternoon of fun Mainstream dancing.

With very few sitting out, we danced between five and six squares throughout the afternoon and our callers, Trudy and Simon Fielding, treated us to four duets - "Rolling With The Flow","Have to Say I Love You in a Song", "Love Song", "Here Comes the Night" as well as individual singing calls.  During the break for refreshments we served everyone with a complimentary cream tea as well as welcome cups of tea and coffee. After we were back in the Main Hall, Trudy called the raffle for us and we were soon back to dancing again.

One of our guests, Trudie T, is known for her quirky dancing shoes and she did not disappoint, bringing along two of her favourite pairs.

After spending a lovely afternoon dancing together, our guests went home at 5.30 p.m.  with a sweet from our tub of Cadbury's Heroes. Thanks to our hardworking Committee and Callers for making the dance such a success.
