Sunday 31st December 2023 - Monday 1st January 2024
Barbara, David C, Penny, Bob W, Janet F, Bob F, Ann. Brian, Hazel, Martin, Jackie, Keith, Janet H and David H joined All Square at Zero for their New Year's celebrations in Kensworth and had a fun afternoon and evening bringing in the New Year dancing Mainstream and Plus to Kevin Lovell.
Monday 8th January 2024 - Both Trudy and Simon were feeling unwell this evening so Penny and David called in their place. Despite very low attendance we had a fun evening of dancing on a very cold night - hence members danced in coats, scarves and gloves. They had been pre-advised by email to dress in "layers" as St Joseph's had been closed over the Christmas and New Year period. We all joined together and sang "Happy Birthday" to Barbara who celebrated over the weekend.
Wednesday 10th January 2024 - Barbara, David C, Keith, Jackie, David S, Gill S, Janet H and David H attended the funeral of our former member, Kathleen Mary Bearpark "Kath" who sadly passed away in December 2023.
Monday 15th January 2024 - On a very cold night with "minus" temperatures outside we decided to dance in the much smaller, but decidedly warmer, Dining Hall rather than the Main Hall, and we had two squares. Trudy and Simon were both feeling much better and called for us with the usual guest tips from Penny and David. Simon thanked Penny and David for stepping in at the last minute to cover for Trudy and himself the previous week. As part of his final tip Simon called some simple "progressive" squares where the heads from square one changed places with the heads from square two, danced a few moves and then moved back again. Our Secretary, Janet, brought along a tub of chocolates to share as she is celebrating her birthday this week and we sang "Happy Birthday" to her in the usual way.

Monday 22nd January 2024 - Trudy was away visiting her mother in Dorset so Simon called for us on his own with guest tips from Penny and David. On a windy night we danced two squares in the Dining Hall. We were very pleased to welcome back Janet and Bob F who, due to health issues and other commitments. have not been able to join us on a Monday night since last September. We all joined together and sang "Happy Birthday" to Sue W and Joyce D who are both celebrating their birthdays this week.
Tuesday 23rd January 2024 -
Bob P, Mary S, David H and Janet H, along with former members Molly S, Ann P and Ros F, attended the funeral in Knebworth of our late member, Kay Malcolm.
Although Kay was no longer physically strong enough to dance with us, she retained her membership of Waggoners until August 2023 and over the years joined us for several of our social meals at Wodson Park.
Monday 29th January 2024 - On a mild night we danced two squares in the Dining Hall to Trudy and Simon with guest tips from David and Penny. Trudy invited dancers to sing along with her, "Any Dream will Do" while one of Simon's singing calls was "One Promise Too Late", a favourite of our Club Secretary, Janet. During the break in dancing members took the opportunity to socialise with each other.
David S was invited to choose the final singing call of the evening and he chose Paul Simon's "Slip Sliding Away" which again had everyone joining in with the chorus.
