Monday 2nd October 2023 - In the absence of Trudy and Simon, Penny and David were our callers this evening and we danced two squares. David had made a lemon drizzle cake and Penny a banana, cranberry and nut cake which they shared with the members during the interval. We had two birthdays to celebrate and we sang "Happy Birthday" to Joan and Roy.
Monday 9th October 2023 - On a busy night we danced three squares to Trudy and Simon with guest tips by Penny and David. We were very pleased to welcome back Barry C, Bob P, Dave R, Jeff and Rosemary R and Mary S who have all not been able to come to Club for a while. At 9.00 p.m. we held our Annual General Meeting and, after the Chairman and Treasurer had given their reports, Simon took over as temporary Chair for the Election of Officers. Bob W, Janet H and David H were re-elected as Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer with Michael D, Pat M, David S, Gill S, Penny W and Sue W being re-elected as Committee members. We were very happy to elect Julie W to join the Committee.

Sunday 15th October - Sunday 22nd October 2023 - Brian, Ann, Julie, Sandy, Janet and David went on a cruise to France and Spain on MSC Virtuosa and danced Plus and Advanced to Kevin Lovell. There were over 50 dancers from various clubs in the UK with two dancers from Sweden and two from the U.S.A.
Monday 16th October 2023 - Due to many of our members being away on a Square Dancing cruise, star gazing or bird watching there was very low attendance this evening. Unfortunately it was a very chilly night and, because the School was on half term holiday, there was no heating so everyone kept their coats on to dance. Trudy and Simon kept the tips rolling so that no one had to sit out for long and everyone had a fun time. As it was so cold, everyone agreed that the evening should finish a little earlier than usual.
Monday 23rd October 2023 - Numbers were up this week and we danced two squares to Trudy and Simon with a guest tip from David who gave us "Chapel of Love" as his singing call. We celebrated the birthdays of Ron, Ann and Dennis by singing "Happy Birthday" to them.
Monday 30th October 2023 - As the School was back after the Half-Term Holiday, it was noticeably warmer in the Main Hall this evening and we had more than enough dancers for two squares. In honour of Halloween tomorrow, David S made a balloon ghost which Ron P minded while David danced. Both David and Penny were guest callers with David giving us "Time Slips Away" as his singing call and Penny "Thank You For The Music" as hers. We wished Ann S a Happy Birthday as she is celebrating later this week and, for the last tip of the evening, Trudy and Simon sang a duet of "Middle Ground".
