What is media. How does it function.
Again great work of you three. Good team! - Thank you.
Joe: Media is …. systematic approach to capture your attention.
All the kind of messages, we receive ... - Ask people and not taking information for granted.
Kelly: Media as information tool or creating public opinion

What kind of political affiliation is this kind of media connected to

Media is a propaganda tool for the controlling class.

Media as a tool of public control
There is the risk, that we end up in always the same situation: We are very good in criticism, but unable to do what we need.
I will give you an example. In Germany we have “Free radio stations” besides the “Official Radio” and private, market-orientated media. Official Radio in Germany, what is TV and radio similar to the BBC, has to be paid by all people in the country, if they want it or not. - If you do not pay, you go to jail or your banking account will be distrained. - Now by accident I got the information, how this Free radios are funded.
The Official Radio earns about 8 billion Euro a year from the people. And with that money the controlling agency for private and “Free” media is paid. And from that money the “Free radio” stations get a portion, so they can do their work and pay their employees. - But in that moment, those “free stations” are never be free. And when you look at their content, they produce, you can see, that they do not inform the people in another way, than the Official Radio do. - For example “economy”.
On all radio stations you can hear the same lie, we would need growth, again and again growth for more jobs. And we would need more and more jobs, else the people could never earn an income.
This is a lie. - But you can't find a radio station, which again and again, year after year would tell the truth, which is that we don't need growth to have a stable and sustainable world and supply with goods for all people. And you can't find a free radio station, which again and again tells the people that income should be disconnected from labor and become a human right for the people in the world.
So our main problem is the lack of media, which do better than the existing one's, rather than the lack of criticism of the existing situation. - When we analyze our today's world, we should do it with the purpose to do it better, and we should immediately do it.

Joana:
Coming from a system of survival to one with the best solutions. In the media are much important the three “S”: sensation, sport and sex.
This is interesting and I can tell a story from my neighborhood. - There is a lot of advertisement not only in TV and radio, but also on the streets, in railway stations, buses and trams. There is a lot of sexism advertisement and the important thing is, that at all official places in the town, you need an allowance to put there your ads on. This allowance is given by the communal authorities and you have to pay for this. - So at the end of the view, we can see that politicians and parties are directly control and benefit from this propaganda space-selling.

Joe:
Competition between media agencies for the most profit, which is incompatible with their purpose to inform honestly and neutral. We need people-owned broadcast-systems.

Joana: When you have an issue you are related to, write your own blog about it.
This is a very important advice, because we have to think about, how we can do our “own broadcast system” as Joe said. - And this is necessary.
In another contribution of “Living Income Guaranteed”, which is called “The Age of Online Activism”, was talked about how to be active in our society. - And one way is to have your own themes you are connected with. - And politics and public affairs are so important for our own live, so we have to be involved in those matters. You can blog the results of your investigations on your homepage, so other people can share your point of view. And mostly don't work anonymous, because it's your world and surrounding and you have the right to rule and decide about this area. - You can do it off-hand or become more and more an expert, if you are interested in the subjects.
Second, network with other people about the same affairs, when you have equal aims and ideas of necessary developments. - Make campaigns together, so the media effect will be greater, than doing it alone.
Third, be active in social networks like twitter, Facebook and Google+.
33:37
Joe: You are responsible for spreading information.
If we relate this to social networks like Google+, we can talk about how those social networks work. - You can give a “Like” or “+1”, if you think positive about an article in those media. And you can make “friends” and create “circles” for your people. - But what is the reality.
In social media you are not looking for people, who are in your address-book, like your employer, your uncle, your dentist or your renter. - You want to connect with people with the same view on the world and the same interests to change things in the direction you are convinced about.

Joe: Guaranteed Income: The magic bullet, we are waiting for.
I would answer on this: What can we do now. It's online activism what means cooperate work. And the methods are those I mentioned earlier in this comment. And we should do it now.
Although I believe, despite the fact, that we have no basic income at the very moment, we have the idea developed in us. So it's real in our perception and how we deal with our surroundings. It's harder to corrupt us with propaganda and it's not so easy to get us in the traps.
Different topics putting together?
There is another question to me, maybe it is interesting for you. - I found out when you are involved in politics and official affairs, you have a lot of issues, which should be discussed and more, which need solutions and judgment about through each of us. - And parties have the problem, when they make a decision on one matter, and their voters will support this, they make a decision on another subject and their supporters don't like that decision.
Which means, we people have never the same opinion on all issues in the world. And this is a very great problem. - For example “basic income”. - It's not easy to meet people, which think this issue in the same way. They say “basic income”, but when we talk more deeper on it, you can find out, that five people who say “yes” to basic income, are talking about five different kind of ideas of basic income. There are differences in views of financing this subject or how the society in the whole has to change.
But that's not the greatest problem. - There are a lot of people, who believe we should combine “one good idea” with other good ideas and support this as a group.
When there are five single persons, individuals, they could have the idea to register an association called “basic income group”. This BIG will have a homepage and beside their main interest, they now also deal with other aspects of daily politics discussion on the same page, related to Islam, Ukraine, Russia, Middle East, China, US, nationalism, patriotism, religion, weapons ownership, death penalty, fighting terrorism, pornography, prostitution and so on.
There are so many topics, which bring people against each other, because they have not the same opinion about it. I believe you would have a lot of trouble in this group, because you will always have people which support basic income but not the opinion which is official published by the group about those other topics.
--
I think the only way to work together, is to do it as individuals, and be free to stop working with someone, who you believe is wrong-doing and -deciding about other issues. - And second, we should work as online activists not in groups but in networks which are tied loosely and always be related to one subject. - But surely you could work in several networks for different aims and subjects.
What does this mean? - For example you say “yes” to basic income and you work with someone else for this idea to become real. - But this other person has an opinion and judgment about let's say “Middle East” you don't like. - What are you doing. Will you stop working with this guy, because you don't like his idea about this other issue?
