SAA Support Truck Volunteer
Wanted support truck volunteers!
We need up to 3 support vehicles and volunteers. Do you have a Truck, Van or Trailer or Vehicle that could work as a support vehicle for this adventure? Do you already know someone on this ride and want to support them? Would you be willing to volunteer your time and vehicle and join in on this great adventure across back america?
Duties of the support truck:
Transport the riders personal bags each day to the next motel
Carry a cell phone in order to contact riders
Carry tools and misc scooter support gear in order to facilitate scooter repair
Transport broken scooter to the next motel
Help riders in need of any support
Optional: Depending on the support team home location, the truck might help transport scooters either to or from the ride. This of course would be supported by addition fees from the riders using this to transport their scooters. We can work this out as the ride plans develop.
Fees: Riders are asked to contribute $15 per day to help offset the cost of the fuel and the vehicle. Each support truck can support up to 15 riders. After 15 riders we will try to add additional an additional truck. This fee is not enough to cover the cost of motels and food for the drivers, so the drivers are on their own.
Support truck Volunteer will be given the gps route and shortcut freeway options. Driver can either follow the ride directly or depending on circumstances decide to do shortcuts to aid in the support effort.
