Ride Description

Mesa Mania Ride

This ride will focus on the incredible views that this region has to offer. The ride starts with a trip through the Sand Flats area and includes sections of the Fins-N-Things trail. Then it’s mountain roads as the route climbs along the foothills of the LaSal mountains. We follow the Kokopelli’s Trail to the Mesa region above Castle Valley. Watch for mountain bikers along this trail. There are optional Mesa overlooks shown by the Black lines. All should be spectacular. Be sure to include Beaver Mesa and the Dolores River overlook. The ride continues through Thompson Canyon and the famous Onion Creek trail. There will be many easy water crossings along Onion Creek. The ride finishes on the highway along the Colorado River. The main loop without any side trips is 81 miles. If you decide to explore all three viewpoints the ride will extend to 141 miles. Recommendation: Pack your lunch and have it at the Dolores River Overlook. gpsKevin
