Moab Favorite Rides

Hello Moab Riders:

I have been studying and working on making some new ride choices for Duane's Moab ride this year. I have come up with 6 new fun rides that I would like to share with everyone. I have been riding Moab myself for 30 years, and now decided that I should take a new look and study what other ride options there are that I might be missing. Of course I know many of you all have been riding Moab for a long time also, so you all know different things then I do, but I think you will like some of the new choices. I have made a ride map handout to describe each ride. The handout includes a ride map and a ride description. These are attached to this email. I recommend that you print each of these and bring them with you to Moab. These will be the maps that you can take on the ride with you each day. Your gps can be set up to match these maps.

Below are the handout for the rides: Click on thee handout to see full size.

You can download all these maps and print them yourself.

I have made gps ride maps to put into your gps in order use during the ride. You can wait until Moab and I will help you set up your gsp unit on Sunday evening. I will be available after Duane's ride meeting to discuss the ride choices and help people with their gps setup.

Others may want to set up your gps before coming to Moab, so below are instructions on how to set up your gps yourself.

You must use your computer to write the gps files to an SD card and then install it into your gps unit

Steps:

  1. Get an SD card (Buy a blank one or get the current one out of your gps unit)

  2. Download the correct file to your computer (Choice, do you have a new or old style gps?, see download list below)

  3. Write the "garmin" folder to your blank SD card

  4. Install the card into your gps unit

Done

Choose the appropriate download based on your gps type below:

Garmin New Style: Nuvi 30, 40, 50, Etrex 20, 30, GPSMAP 62, 62s, 62sc, GPSMAP 78, 78s

GPS60, gpsmap60csx, anything with 60 is old

Etrex, Legend, Vista, summit
