Santa Ana Mountains Adventure Ride

Santa Ana Mountains Adventure Ride

Adventure Ride around San Diego and Riverside County

DUE TO FIRES

Due to fires across the state all parks have been closed, so we are reworking the route to deal with this. The following site describes the reworked route and the redone map. While it is a disappointment we cannot ride through the Cleveland forest the ride is still very enjoyable and we hope you can understand if the ride is not what you were expecting.

About this ride: This is a fun shorter ride on backroads along the coastal mountains. The ride starts in Escondido at 21303 Bresa De Loma Dr. The ride travels north from Escondido into Fallbrook and joins De Luz Road. The route continues through the the backroads of La Cresta, we get some great views and nice roads. Then we take a backroad on some dirt to the backside of old Temecula. Then the route moves south, ending at Stone brewery for a late lunch.

You will go down a dirt road with rocks, ruts, and pot holes through orchards and farm houses. You continue on the main route through the west side of La Cresta, winding up and down hills and through often empty roads.

We then start moving south through Wildomar and Murrieta making a detour through the mountains behind Temecula. This has a few dirt sections that were well maintained but have recently been rained on, so expect some ruts and rocks.

The route rejoins main roads in old Temecula, it stays on nicely paved roads moving south, you have the option to take the 15 and bypass the rest of the route if you desire.

The route keeps moving south twisting all the way to Stone Brewery, where we will have some food and relax.

REMINDER: This is a self lead gps style ride, there is no leader so group up and ride as you see fit. The plan is to leave at 9:00 a.m. and end at 2:00 p.m.

WE WILL PROVIDE THE GPS CHIPS. For this ride we will give you a GPS chip with the route already downloaded, if you do not want to use GPS you can use the google map we have made, though it is not recommended.
