Mojave Roulette 2015

March 14th and 15th

Take the Gamble to explore the remote Mojave Desert

Join us for this 2 day Dual Sport Ride

Riding begins Saturday Morning 3/14/2015 in Barstow CA

About the ride:

This is an awesome 2 day desert ride starting in Barstow CA and going through the Mojave desert and mountains to the Colorado River in Laughlin NV. We will spend the night at Harrahs Casino and on Sunday morning we ride back along the Famous Mojave Trail and down into Ludlow CA and then back into Barstow. The ride covers 410 miles for the weekend so this ride is recommended only for intermediate or advanced riders with a lot of desert experience. The ride does have options for easier and harder routes. Riders should come prepared to repair their bikes and tires on the trail if necessary. There will be a support truck to carry your overnight gear to the hotel and back.

OK since many of you might like to study more detail about the ride, below are the ride maps.

I put these ride maps on the web page because I know a few of you love looking at the ride detail and dreaming about the ride. At first glance these maps do not look so impressive, but they are way cool. If you click the Earth or Satellite tab and start zooming in, you can see the ride in incredible detail. I have spent a ton of hours sorting through the details of the ride for each day, so for those of you that enjoy this sort of thing, well enjoy!

FAQ's

Q:What will the weather be like this time of year?

A: Most likely the weather will be great. Most years the mornings can be a cool 50 deg and the days can be 70 to 80 deg. But sometimes there can be rain. It can be cold in the mountains. I recommend carrying extra clothes. Check the weather report before packing and bring extra warm gear in your overnight bags just in case.

Q: Would this be a good Noobs Ride?

A: No, not recommended for new riders, this can be a longer, tougher ride. There are some shortcuts and easy choices, but it is a full deal ride.

Q: What gas mileage range do I need for his ride?

A: The longest distance between gas stations is 122 miles, you should come with the ability to go 135 just in case.

Q; What do I do if I don't have a garmin gps?

A: Buy one, you need it, we will show you how to use it. You can get a great one for $150 bucks. ( See gpsKevin's gps recommendations)

Q: Is the riding really on my own?

A: Yes,of course you are responsible for yourself, but everyone hooks up and rides with a friend, or a new friend.
