Statement 16 (Vol 4 No 37)

Religion is about life: it is a zest for the vitality that is life, for the gifts of life, and the enhancement of life through that vitality and those gifts.

We sing, we celebrate our faith,

Religion at its best,

It stirs our soul; it nurtures hope;

It gives our life its zest.

We ponder on the gifts of life,

On life’s vitality,

Then venture forth, renewed in strength

To face reality.

All good religion at its core

Inspires worthiness;

Our faith, as energy for life

Declares our sacredness.

When sacred gifts are freely shared

In kindness, grace and peace,

Enhancement of our life occurs;

The charms of joy increase.
