God - The love dance (Vol 2 No 24)
Do we have a picture of what God might be?
Is it one of movement and vitality?
God, we ponder, dancing quite excitedly
When the ‘Big Bang’* happened. What a mystery!
God, the Love Dance calls us, “Use your energy
To live every moment in the dance with Me.”
God, the Dance, invites us, “Learn new steps each day
From your special teacher; he said, ‘I’m the Way.’
Jesus is demanding; hear his students say,
‘We all dance in earnest; never just display.”
God, the Love Dance calls us, “Use your energy
To live every moment in the dance with Me.”
Dancing with the outcasts there in Galilee;
Dancing with the homeless and the refugee;
This was quite offensive, could spark anarchy;
Jesus knew his dancing caused hostility.
God, the Love Dance calls us, “Use your energy
To live every moment in the dance with Me.”
When his dance was over and he breathed his last,
All his foes were certain he had danced too fast;
And his close disciples were at first downcast,
But kept dancing with him; better than the past.
God, the Love Dance calls us, “Use your energy
To live every moment in the dance with Me.”
As we keep on dancing, prove that we are free,
We can find such purpose and our destiny;
For the world needs dancers with integrity
To live out compassion and bring harmony.
God, the Love Dance calls us, “Use your energy
To live every moment in the dance with Me.”
* The ‘Big Bang’ is the name given by scientists for the explosion which started the whole universe creative evolutionary process.
