Felicity
I’m learning to contented be,
Eschew distinction, temptress she.
I choose to be most satisfied
When God’s intent and mine collide.
I’m learning to contentment see
Though many mysteries outwit me,
To see intention in design,
And leave unknowns to later times.
I’m learning to contentment find
Midst all the turmoil in my mind,
To see through fame’s concave allure;
Let praise, ambition, heart be pure.
I’m learning to contentment seek,
Inflated thoughts to bid retreat,
That as my heart to God inclines
Impulsion modulates divine.
