Small and Simple

An original hymn, these lyrics came in a rush with music more simple and in and older style than we tend to write. But the message of unity, forgiveness, and trust in the Lord is one our world needs today.

Let us remember that "by small and simple things are great things brought to pass" (Alma 37:6), and that "the Lord looketh on the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7).

Small and simple, great and wise,

All are equal in Heaven’s eyes.

Let us be faithful whate’er our part.

The Lord looketh on the heart.

Strong and mighty stand someday,

Meek and lowly for today.

Forge the ploughshare from the sword

And trust His holy word.

Stand united, Zion’s cause.

When the lions give you pause,

Trust the armor of the Lord,

For He will keep His word.

Seek forgiveness, share it too.

Offer mercy as you do.

See the goodness in their eyes,

And He will make you wise.
