I hope I die in April
On a perfect springtime day.
I want the world to seem its best
When I am on my way.
I hope there's blooming daffodils
And crocus everywhere,
With tulips new and smiling
Giving fragrance to the air.
It seems a fitting setting
That as life begins anew
My life, though brief, continues on,
New journeys to pursue.
I hope I die in April
With the sun in full array.
I hope I die in April
On a perfect springtime day.
