Manuscripts hidden, revised but unfinished,

For years by her daughters in flight.

Captivity, fateful captivity beckoned.

From paper – personification.

Unfinished? Ironic. The voice they once silenced

Now speaks with clear realization.

Dictators, unhindered, incite the extreme;

Submission by forced termination.

Her work, resurrected. Her voice, now redeemed,

Elucidates clear vindication.

incomplete manuscript of 'Suite Francaise', begun in 1941

when she was in exile in France, but never finished.

She was a Jew —

murdered by the Nazis in Auschwitz in 1942.
