Home Making

We build with bricks and mortar

A house that meets our needs.

We choose with care the colors

That will satisfy and please.

We clean and scrub and sterilize.

We organize the fort.

But with all the house we're keeping,

Are we making any sort?

Are we making time for scriptures?

Are we saying family prayer?

Are we setting good examples

For our children who are there?

Are we making time for family night

To keep the world at bay?

Are we following the Savior

In our family today?

As we make our home a haven,

A refuge from outside,

We invite the Holy Spirit

To protect and then reside.

May we make our home a building block

For all society.

Let us make a home worth keeping

As we raise our family.
