Blessed
This Christmas (2019), I was inspired by a request for our ward Christmas program to begin with the angel, Gabriel, visiting Mary.
This song came after sincere prayer, study of the scriptural account, and much pondering at the piano. Ideas came here and there, and then it all came together...I didn't know what it would be at first....I had to discover it as I wrote it.
It was a beautiful experience that taught me about Mary, and how truly blessed she was. I admire her, her willingness to follow Father's plan, to bear the Savior of the World. I testify of Him, His reality, His love, His power to lift and heal. I love Him and offer this gift to you, which came as a gift to me, in hopes that you will feel the peace and joy I felt in the process of creation as you listen and reflect on this sacred experience (Luke 1:26-38).
Thanks so much to my sons, Jim and Drew, for helping me make this recording where you are invited into our living room to hear a story and a song (at the bottom of the page). And thanks to my husband for pairing the song beautifully with the Bible videos available at www.ChurchofJesusChrist.org (top of the page.)
Merry Christmas, not just once a year, but every day.

LYRICS
Hail, thou art highly favored.
Blessed art thou.
Fear not, for the Lord is with thee. (I will not fear; the Lord is with me.)
Blessed art thou. (Blessed am I.)
Behold, thou shalt bring forth a Son,
Blessed art thou.
Mary, nothing is impossible with God. (How shall this be? With God!)
Blessed art thou. (Behold the handmaid of the Lord;)
(Be it unto me according to thy word.)
Wonder of wonders, a Child sent to thee! (me!)
A Son sent from heaven to fulfill the prophecies,
To bind the broken hearted and set His people free.
This Wonder of wonders (is coming to me.)
He shall be great, The Son of the Highest,
And He shall be called the Son of God!
Wonder of wonders, a Child sent to thee! (me!)
A Son sent from heaven to fulfill the prophecies,
To bind the broken hearted and set His people free.
This Wonder of wonders (is coming to me.)
Blessed!
(My soul doth magnify the Lord!)
