Of One Heart

Of One Heart was written in honor of Emma Smith, for Sisters of One Heart. It illustrates that we have more in common than different from one another, and celebrates true unity, which comes as we follow Jesus Christ.

This simple hymn was given an Award of Merit in the 2021 Church Music Submission.

Of one heart in rejoicing, bound in joyful happy song,

United in our voices singing praises bright and strong,

Together in grateful chorus, we join our faith and sing,

United, of one heart, Daughters of a king.

Of one heart in our suff’ring, bound in sorrows and in grief,

United in our struggling, deeply pleading for relief,

Created by our Creator to stand instead of fall,

United, of one heart, Sisters one and all.

Of one heart in our worship, bound in spirit as we seek,

United in our off’rings, simply sharing sweet relief,

We’re bearing each others’ burdens as we minister in love,

United, of one heart, Children of our God.

Of one heart in our seeking, bound in faithful trust in God,

United in our promise, making cov’nants with the Lord,

Our hands raised in holy witness as we consecrate our lives,

United, of one heart, unified in Christ.
