Wire Sculpture

Artist Statement

Describe: The subject of my piece was a little lightbulb. The work was made with thick and thin wire and those needle nosed pliers. I chose to do a lightbulb because I thought it would look cute. I used line, form, and pattern.

Analyze: I'm not sure how wire can have a composition, but I guess I used silhouette lighting and framing. My project evolved because the form changed a lot and I had to move around lots of wires to make it round and actually kind of look like a light bulb.

Evaluate: There isn't really a meaning behind the lightbulb, but originally I wanted to make it a lightbulb plant and connect it to a pot. It relates to my life because I made it and it was horribly hard. I think it could be A LOT stronger. I wanted to add a lot more details and the pot and stem/leaves to make the lightbulb look like a plant.
