Foundations was a great art experience. I have never made this much art in one year or seen this much progress. At the beginning I found it hard to be creative, but thinking creatively ended up being really fun. I thought I knew most of the materials people used to create art, but I actually only knew a small range. This year I learned about new materials like charcoal and linoleum blocks which made me realize how much more I have to learn. My favorite process was probably either the scratchboard or the charcoal because . My least favorite was probably the color study because, even though the end product was pretty cool, it was very tedious. Another process that I struggled with was the wire, but I knew that was going to be one of the harder ones because I had never done anything like it. Even though there were a couple processes I struggled with I usually liked my end product. My 3 pieces that I'm most proud of are my self portrait, my color design painting, and my scratchboard. I think I improved a great deal this year, but still have lots more to improve. I would really like to improve on acrylic painting and watercolors. I hope I get to continue creating art and improving in different ways that I didn't know I could. :)
