Artist Statement

Describe: My art piece is of a student at FHS with Vogue written at the top of the page and diversity written over her face. I used a camera to take picture of the girl then I printed it out and used a sharpie to write over the picture. I chose to make this because I was trying to make a statement about diversity.

Analyze: I used lighting and focus. It evolved because I had to put a lot of thought into if I wanted it to be completely B&W or have selective coloring like on the words.

Evaluate: The artwork is supposed to make a statement about diversity in everyday life. It's important to accept differences and teach others to do the same. I think it could be stronger if I added more dark lighting and shadows to make it more dramatic.
