Describe: The subject of my creations was my linoleum block print which was carved like a rose. This was usually printed at the center of my piece. The work was made with ink, gelatin blocks, linoleum, and little objects like fishnet, bubble wrap, and string. I first used the items to make designs on the gelatin squares then I used a paint roller and rolled paint over it. After I did that I pressed a paper on top of everything which left a painting on the paper. Then I printed my rose on each print using the carving I had already made. My last step was extending my pieces with pen.
Analyze: I used grouping in my pieces because the drawing and painting is centered in a group. My project evolved because I kept adding to the extending drawing. Also as I was using the gelatin cubes to print out I kept changing the placement of the objects to make cooler designs.
Evaluate: The artwork was supposed to talk about a social issue and I chose women's rights. The rose represents hope and love. And I drew and painted things around it that can be related to the subject. I think my artwork could be stronger if I spent more time on the extended drawings.
