When I went to get my drivers license and had to check off whether or not to be an organ donor I had already heard about it, but I never realized how easy it actually was. I checked yes basically because that's what my parents told me to do, but since then I've actually developed my own view on it and I hope everyone becomes an organ donor!!! For this project we had to make a poster that promoted and encouraged organ and tissue donation. I came up with my catch phrase (I don't know what it's called) first and then made two people dancing to follow that theme. I drew a boy and a girl doing a little jiggy with little ripples by their feet and a heartbeat connecting their hearts. I used acrylic paint, oil marker, and a thin black marker to make it. I decided to go for a cartoonish style because I wanted it to be interesting to look at and appeal to teenagers because they get to choose to be an organ donor. I wanted to test out using just a couple colors and just making them lighter and darker and I wanted to make it colorful and fun since it's about dancing. I don't know how much I like the people because I feel like they look weird especially how fat the guys eyebrows are (no judgement) but like they look a little chunky and he's kind of cross eyed, but like it's okay! I like that I connected their hearts by a heartbeat because it relates back to the "dancing to the beat" message and also could be showing how organ and tissue donation can connect two people. Someone could have your heart or parts of your heart in them. That's really cool to me.
