Animal Assemblage

Artist Statement:

Describe: The subject of my work is an asian elephant which is one of the elephant species that are endangered. I made the work with newspaper, tape, thin recycled paper, buttons, paint things, and an old t-shirt. I used color, form, texture, and shape in my armature.

Analyze: I used framing in my picture of the sculpture because I had to crop and get different angles of the assemblage. I also used some silhouette lighting because the shadow of the assemblage is shown. This project evolved a lot because since I haven't done sculptures and stuff before it was a lot of trial and error. I also had to find ways to incorporate texture.

Evaluate: The meaning behind the artwork is mostly to represent an animal that is endangered because of humans. The assemblage was made of all trash or recycled materials. This relates to my life because I think it's very important to help endangered animals. I think I could have made it bigger and added more details.
