Artist Statement

Describe: The subject of the creation is my mom and she's standing in the back of our yard in front of some trees. I made the work with acrylic paint, the lightroom, and a pencil. I created this because I wanted to make a person and my mom's super cute. I used color and texture.

Analyze: I used framing and focus in my piece. I used framing to make a border for the piece and I used focus because my mom is in the center. My project evolved because I kept adding more layers and trying to get the right color for the face.

Evaluate: The meaning behind the piece is just that I really wanted to paint a face and thought it would be nice to do my mom. It relates to my life because it's my mom. This actually is one of my least favorite pieces because I don't think it really looks like my mom and it's not a very interesting piece. I could change it by maybe making the background some crazy colors.
