Final Reflection

I had so much fun in 2D!!! I'm really glad I took it because it was like a more relaxed and free version of Foundations. I got to experiment more and found styles that I like while exploring different creative projects.

I feel like there's less improvement from 2D than foundations, but I definitely explored more. I really liked the freedom we had with projects like the circle project where all we had to do was incorporate a circle. I got to see so many different styles and takes on it from my peers. Looking at everyone else's art hung up on the wall at the end of the project was always one of my favorite parts.

I think my favorite project was the personal voice one because I got to really think about my subject and make something that was meaningful to me. It also helped me discover that I like painting solid colored cartoon-like people, but maybe I'll change my mind about that when I actually discover how to do realistic shading and stuff. I really like how it turned out in the end and I'm glad I got to put the college letters to some use. The most challenging project for me was definitely the Duck Stamp and I think it was a combination of things. It was pretty strict for the competition, I'm not great at making things look realistic, and it was nearing the end of the quarter. I'll work on it some more soon :)

In the end, I really enjoyed 2D and it was something I looked forward to throughout the semester. I forgot to sign up for 3D, but catch me next semester hopefully making some fun clay sculptures or something :)
