WEEKLY PLANS FOR ON-LINE LEARNING

GRADE 1


Dear students and parents,

Welcome to the Site for Macedonian Language and Culture!

In these challenging times, it is important for all of us to work together, to support each other and to be our best!

Every Monday morning, I will share here the new information for on-line learning for the subject Macedonian Language and Culture. The newest instructions for home learning are following the General info.

It is very important that you read the General info regarding sending / submitting the finished work.

General info

Please, take pictures or videos of your child while working on each activity;

After completing all of the activities provided for each week, please submit them on a weekly basis. It is very important to keep track of your child's work while we are at home. You can do that in 2 ways:

1. Upload them directly in the folder on Google Drive, that I've created for your child. Just open the link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1sMJbxU5-LQSB1968Ez9vey4C1XZtIthc , find the folder with the name of your child and upload them there.

2. Send me an email with attaching all photos / short videos / scanned documents (lidija.vangelova@nova.edu.mk) and I will upload them in your child's folder.

When your child finish everything that was provided for each week of home learning, you can go to the instructions for the next week.

June 1 - End of the School Year

Respectable parents and my dear students,

We are approaching the end of the School year! Can you believe it?! For this period the tasks for Macedonian Language and Culture are very interesting, fun and easy! And at the end, since "THE END CROWNS THE WORK", I have an interesting activity for your child (NUMBER 7) for the end of this School year.

Just follow these guidelines:

1.

  • TASK: Start the week with singing :), same as last 2 weeks
  • Time: As long as your child wants
  • WHAT TO DO?

-Listen any of the songs / videos that I've posted before, especially the ones with the alphabet. Choose the one that your child likes the most:

2.

  • During the following period we need to master recognition of the position of different letters in the words. We are going to finish with all vowels and with R ("Р" in Macedonian) as a very important letter!
  • TASK: Discover the position of the letter "E" - interactive activity - "Where is E?"
  • TIME: 10 min.
  • WHAT TO DO?
      1. Open the worksheet
      2. Your child should try to:
  • Connect the words with the pictures by drawing a line.
  • Say the word out loud
  • Try to discover if the big letter that is in the middle of the page is:
        • on the beginning of the word (red circle)
        • in the middle of the word (yellow circle)
        • at the end of the word (green circle)
  • Choose the correct circle. That's it!
  • When your child finish with each worksheet, click on the button FINISH, which is bellow the worksheet;
      • 2 options will appear:

At the end of this journey, I suggest to celebrate the learning of the Macedonian Alphabet and to have fun with creating a final "Letters Parade" on this Site.

  • Ask your child to pick an object, an animal, a color, a peace of the clothing, a number, a color, a day of the week, a food, a fruit or a vegetable or any other thing, whose name in Macedonian begins with the same Initial letter as their name.
  • Using their creativeness and any supplies/materials that you have at home, help your child to create their mask/costume, as in the example bellow (МY NAME IS LIDIJA (ЛИДИЈА) / I CHOOSE THE FLOWER TULIP (ЛАЛЕ in Macedonian) / МY MASK IS "A MEADOW WITH TULIPS" (ЛИВАДА СО ЛАЛИЊА) - See the photos below :)
  • Ask your child the write his/hers name and the name of their "mask" in Macedonian.
  • Take a photo of your child and write to me what is his/her mask.
  • Send me photos
  • I will post the photos on this Site, next to my "ЛИВАДА СО ЛАЛИЊА" (see below)
  • I would appreciate if I get to photos as soon as possible, and not latter than Thursday, June 11
  • Thank you very much for all the support during this long and challenging journey of on-line learning!

Several more step towards mastering the Macedonian writing and reading! Follow these guidelines during the following 2-weeks period :


1.

  • TASK: Start the week with singing :)

Week May 11 - May 15 , 2020

Another step towards mastering the Macedonian writing and reading! Follow these guidelines :


1.

  • TASK: Start
  • Time: As long as your child wants
  • WHAT TO DO?

-Listen all songs / videos that I've posted before, especially the ones with the alphabet.

-Open the link

-Your child should try to say the names of the things on the pictures;

-Under the pictures, there are the words for these things in Macedonian, but with missing last letter;

-Your child should try to identify which letter is missing from the "letter bank" bellow the pictures;

-He/she should "catch" the letter, drag it and "write it" (drop it) on the right place;

-When your child finish all 10 words, click on the button FINISH, which is bellow the worksheet;

Week May 4 - May 8, 2020

Respectable parents and my dear students,

Now, since you have already mastered recognition of the letters from the Macedonian Alphabet, it is time for some practicing on you own. Your task for this week is to "use" what you have learn learn so far, following these guidelines:


1.

  • TASK: Review the alphabet
  • WHAT TO DO?

-Listen all songs / videos that I've posted before, especially the ones with the alphabet.


2.

  • TASK: Practice your Macedonian
  • WHAT TO DO?

-Walk around your home or outside and try to find as many as possible things / objects / fruits / vegetables / animals / food / clothes / colors... that you know in Macedonian;

-Tell them aloud and which letter they begin with;

-Label them: try to write their names on the sticky notes and put them on!

2 words for each day of the week (10 in total);

-You can also try to make a drawing (example) and write the words in Macedonian on the drawing and take a picture of your HW.

-Be creative!

Week April 27 - May 1, 2020

Respectable parents and my dear students,

Now, since you have already mastered recognition of the letters from the Macedonian Alphabet, I've prepared some new and interesting tasks for you. It's time to start "writing" the letters on your own! For this week, use the following guidelines:


1.

  • TASK: Review all letters
  • TIME: 30 min.
  • WHAT TO DO?

-First open the following link. It is a very interesting and fun video called „БУШАВА АЗБУКА“ - BUSHAVA AZBUKA (SHAGGY / MESSY ALPHABET), which is a short part of an educational series for children about Macedonian literature, culture and tradition, through music, animation, etc. This was / is one of the most endearing and loved TV children shows in Macedonia, by children and adults both. It is best if play it on FULL SCREEN.

-Each letter is presented with short animation and with certain word;

-Watch it, listen and repeat the letters and the words

-When they finish with the video, open the song BUSHAVA AZBUKA

-HAVE FUN and ENJOY!

-Your child should try to say the name of each animal from the worksheet;

-In the second column there are the names of the animals, with missing letters;

-Your child should try to identify which letter is missing from the 3 options bellow the word;

-He/she should "catch" the letter, drag it and "write it" (drop it) on the right place;

Week April 21 - April 24, 2020

Welcome back! I hope that you had interesting and fun time during the Spring break!

For this week, I' ve prepared new and intersting task for your child. The time predicted for the subject Macedonian Language and Culture, they should spend using the following guidelines:


1.

  • Task: Review of the short children "poem" about the Days of the Week
  • TIME: 20 minutes
  • What to do?

- Open the Slide presentation (in full page mode);

- Slide by slide, repeat the verses with the teacher;

-Repeat this twice;

-Ask them if they can tell the whole "poem" on their own;

-Here is the full text of the "poem"

  • TASK: Play with the letters for Macedonian Alphabet
  • TIME: 30 min.
  • WHAT TO DO?

-First open the following link http://macedonianlanguage.org/Play/Interactivegamesforchildren/Alphabet.aspx

*** You might see the following notification:

"The page you were on is trying to send you to http://macedonianlanguage.org/Play/Interactivegamesforchildren/Alphabet.aspx. "

Just click on the link again;

-Now you will be able to see the letters from the Macedonian alpahet on your screen;

-To start playing, click on any letter with your sound on.

-Repeat clicking each letter (first time in order from the letter A) and ask your child to repeat each letter and the animal for each letter (They will know the names of most of the animals mentioned)

-Repeat one more time, but this time in random order!

-HAVE FUN!

Week April 6 - April 10, 2020

And again, with the new week, we have some new challenges for your child. During this week your child should again dedicate some time to the subject Macedonian Language and Culture, using following guidelines: :


1.

- Ask them to repeat the names of the week using the activity from the last week Connect them_Days of the week;

- Watch and listen the presentation one more time;

- Ask them to repeat the words as it is stated in the video;

- Don't forget to have fun!


2.

  • Task: А short children "poem" about the Days of the Week
  • TIME: 30-40 minutes
  • What to do?

Week March 30 - April 3, 2020

Dear parents, with the new week, we have some new challenges for your child. During this week your child should dedicate some time to the subject Macedonian Language and Culture, using following guidelines:


1.

Task: Repeat the numbers in Macedonian with Bibi and Bobi here

Time : 15 minutes

What to do:

- Listen the song / video twice, repeat the numbers aloud and have fun!


2.

TIME: 40 minutes

What to do?

- Watch and listen the presentation 2 times (in "present"mode)

- Ask them to repeat the words as it is stated in the video

- When they finish with this, ask them to tell you the days of the week in Macedonian

*** Pay attention that the first 2 slides are videos. Have your child watch both videos, while repeating all new words, and after that they should follow the whole presentation on their own.

3.

Task: Connect numbers with words and pictures

Time: 30 minutes

What to do?

- Before your child starts with this activity, he/she should watch the presentation one more time

- Open the document Connect them_Days of the week and if you have option for printing, print it.

- They should connect the numbers with corresponding words:

o 1 - dog (KUCHE) – понеделник (Monday)

o 2 – monkey (MAIMOON) – вторник (Tuesday)

o 3 – cat (MACHE) – среда (Wednesday)

o 4 – bird (PTICA) - четврток (Thursday)

o 5 – elephant (SLON) - петок (Friday)

o 6 – pig (PRASE) - сабота (Saturday)

o 7 - chicken (KOKOSHKA)- недела (Sunday)

- Your child might not be able to recognize all words, but he/she will surely be able to recognize the initial letter in each word (which is underlined)

MARCH 12 - MARCH 27, 2020

Dear parents, during the first 2 weeks of School Closure, your child should dedicate several hours to the subject Macedonian Language and Culture, following the guidelines that you can find in the document 1.Gr.1_instructions.
