INTRODUCTION AND COURSE OBJECTIVES

The dance program gives students an opportunity to learn and analyze their performances in order to improve a movement skill. This course is designed to help students to perform more complex movement sequences.

The students will:

  • Demonstrate the ability to define and maintain the personal space
  • Demonstrate partner skills of copying, leading and following
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a group to learn and perform sequences of movement and simple dances
  • Be able to recognize and perform the movement’s accuracy
  • Be able to establish coordination, rhythm, strength, balance and control
  • Be able to perform dance styles such as ballroom, latin, hip-hop and modern dance

Dress Code

Wear NOVA P.E/ Dance uniform or comfortable practicing clothes

Wear appropriate and clean athletic shoes.

Performances: Exit point- Here and now, there and then (November), Winter Performance (December), Exit point- Bake it ( February), Spring Bazaar (April), and End of the Year Performance (June).
