5th grade students were part of a dance ensemble which has been asked to perform at cultural event where parents will attend. They danced with a partner and as part of a group. They performed the Dominican traditional dance- Merengue and a Macedonian traditional dance - Pajdusko Oro. This performance showcase their ability to maintain the rhythm in both dances. The focus was on having balance and counterbalance in order to perform these dances smoothly. 5th grade students were asked to reflect on what they have learned about these cultures and dances and compare these to a traditional dance they already know.
