3rd Grade Dance Overview

MISSION STATEMENT

INTRODUCTION AND COURSE OBJECTIVES

The dance program gives students an opportunity to learn, identify and recognize elements of space, time and force in dance sequences and dance choreographies.

The students will:

· Be able to use time and rhythm while moving

· Create shapes and movements using fast and slow tempos

· Combine and perform basic dance skills moving in different formations

· Learn to dance with partners and in assembly

· Demonstrate the ability to vary control and direct force/energy used in basic dance movements

· Be able to memorize movements in creating a short dance pattern and perform dance choreography

Dress Code

- Wear NOVA P.E/ Dance uniform;

- Wear appropriate and clean athletic shoes;

Exit point -Temples, Tombs and Treasures (October), Exit point- What's on the menu ( April), Spring Bazaar (April), End of the Year Performance (June)
