Grade 3

Course Goals

Third grade student read and discuss biographies of historic and contemporary artists and are encouraged to imitate and apply the expressive techniques they have observed. Students continue to practice the drawing, painting, and sculpting skills they have been building over time and learn to see them within a cultural and historical context. Students work on both group and individual projects. They also develop their skill in using materials, tools, and techniques. Students will be encouraged to develop their creative skills by concentrating on topics such as basic drawing techniques.
